WDCSD has a van route driver opening and substitute bus driver openings. These are great positions for anyone who is looking for a part-time job, retirement job, or a second job for additional income.
Starting pay is $17.36-$17.51 per hour. All buses are automatic, have radios, GPS and automatic door openers. Training is provided and if you’re uncertain about driving a bus, you can schedule a test-drive.
Most of our bus drivers are morning and afternoon route drivers. However, some only have a morning route while others may only be available to drive in the afternoon. Most morning routes start around 6:30 a.m. and most afternoon routes start around 2:30 p.m. Routes are typically 2 hours or less.
If your current schedule doesn’t allow you to be available on a regular basis, being a substitute bus driver is a great option to consider. There isn’t a requirement for the number of days a substitute driver is expected to sub. Hours and days depend on the number of openings and each driver’s availability.
